PRECISION MEDIUM DUTY LIVE CENTER - FOR GENERAL PURPOSE ON MANUAL ENGINE LATHE
Accusize live center, or revolving center, is a precision-ground tool with a point at one end for accurate workpiece holding and positioning/locating. Live centers revolve freely, allowing for increased turning speeds and pressure compared to non-revolving versions or dead centers. Also known as a lathe live center, they have internal bearings that are usually lubricated and sealed to keep out contaminants that can affect performance. Manufacturers design a variety of revolving centers to meet a range of applications, including Riten, Z, bullnose, Morse taper, medium-duty, and heavy-duty live center styles. A precision live center typically has a steel point with a 60-degree angle for durability. Depending on the style, it may be used with manual or CNC machines. A center usually includes a speed rating in maximum rotations per minute, as well as an accuracy tolerance. Point diameter, overall diameter, shank diameter, and overall length are all common dimensions indicated.
Features:
- Accuracy guaranteed within 0.0002"
- The live center has a combination of deep groove ball bearing, thrust ball bearing, and needle bearing.
- The anti-dust seal can prevent cutting fluid and dust from entering into the center bearing
- The 60° rotating spindle is made from carbon alloy steel with heat treatment to HRC 58±2 for high rigidity and wears resistance
- In a fitted plastic case.
